Hurst Award
The Hurst Award is given to the person, persons, or organization who has contributed
to New Mexico Jewish history, culture, and community over a substantial period. In
keeping with the non-sectarian nature of the New Mexico Jewish Historical Society,
the recipient of this award does not have to be Jewish.
The first Hurst Award was presented to Dr. Stanley M. Hordes in 1998, one of the
original co-founders of NMJHS.
